Sire’s FortNite Galaxy Inspired Party

Stephany of Extravacant Events called me a week in advance to prep for an over-the-top FortNite themed event. After several text messages and a FaceTime conversation, she decided to use our white industrial chairs paired with our Bertoia inspired wire chair. For the table she wanted a black-on-black trestle table.

BOHO CHIC in Brooklyn, NYC

Last week I was overly ambitious and participated in TWO styled shoots. The first I'll blog about soon, an outer space fifth birthday party. For second shoot I ventured to Brooklyn to provide Petite Seats, tables, and poufs for a dynamic collab with Bonnie’s Balloons, Pics + Petal, and Willow + Rose Petals. Bonnie say me several days before and ask if I would be interested in collaborating a small setup, you already know my answer was yes! She sent me her style board and I knew my new rattan bow chairs would be perfect. Without further ado, I present, what I’m calling Boho Chic In Bk.

Let’s get into this floral arrangement. Boho chic was the theme so we had to have pampas grass, hanging amaranthus, dried palm leaves, dried palmetto, dried lunaria, and dried sun palm.

Look Two

Shooting at almost twilight was pretty cool, the images had a nice natural filter. The rattan glass-top table was a curbside find in Deal, New Jersey. Paired with our new Moroccan poufs, the low table is perfect for the kiddies and adults.

When I arrived for load in Leatal of Pic + Petal (@picandpetal) was meticulously using blue chiffon strips to hang blue roses. My jaw dropped when I saw how beautiful the installation was hanging from the chandelier. In addition, there were mini Venus et Fleur with their Eternity Roses in a light blue. In a word, AMAZING!

2019: A Year in Reflection

December 2019 marks five and a half years in business! Today is the last working day for me with Petite Seats. We went out with a bang with six events. I will spend the next two weeks mapping out 2020. I will be going over my branding and marketing strategies as well as finalizing my inventory wish list.

c798cd81-2c73-441c-b560-6ad23e670a81.jpg

All in all this year was awesome, we accomplished so much, just D and I. I look forward to expanding the team and slowly stepping into the role of entrepreneur full-time. Cheers to another year!

I am spending Q1 solidifying my strategic partnership and ordering new inventory for the Spring.

The Discussion To Visit China {Long}

image1 (1).jpeg

Today marks my five and a half year mark in business with my Petite Seats brand. It has truly been a journey of perseverance, trial and error, leveraging strategic partnerships and just plain ol’ git and hard work. Today, I can confidently say our hard work has resulted in dominating the children’s party rental niche as an influencer. I feel confident in my brand, yet I’m unsettled in my company’s market share. So what’s a market share you ask? Simple, its the portion of a market controlled by a particular company or product. My goal has always been to dominate the NY + NJ area for high-end children’s event rentals. I have been purposeful in my branding, leveraging my ideal client, and my selected inventory. Which leads me to how I plan to increase my market share in the Children’s Special Events Rental industry.

“Market share is important to a business because the market is a pie and the bigger the slice of the pie the more profit potential. If a business is growing efficiently and continues to increase its market share they are keeping their competitors from taking business from them.” Source

When we discuss market share we are not only speaking of market dominance but also an increased familiarity with my brand which should lead to an increase in my profit coffers. To increase our market share I decided I had to make a sourcing trip to China… Guangzhou to be specific. I attended the Canton Fair Phase Two and was able to source each of the dozen chairs I have been trying to get wholesale.

Not to be facetious, but Petite Seats is the shit! I am manifesting all the things I asked for in business.

I will be leading a trip to China in August or October, depending on my lil’ job. My goal with this trip will be to share my experience in souring in China with a small group of like-minded entrepreneurs who are hungry to scale their businesses and increase their market share. Check out the details below.

A ParTea for Two in Brooklyn, NYC

When Rachel (@rachel.ostroy) called me to remind me it was that time of year again I was ready. Her eldest daughter, Linda was turning two and we needed to collaborate to design a noteworthy event. She gave me the theme, Claris the Mouse, the color palette, and the type of Petite Seats and table she wanted for her event. I searched high and low for the round bistro kids tables using sites like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. I didn’t want to incur the costs of purchasing new tables retail so I began my search for tables I could refinish and paint. The chairs we used were my custom colored Chiavaris in a “Baby Dior Gray”.

Let’s get into the details. First, I found a spray paint that was THE exact color of the baby Dior store while at Home Depot. It was a new color called”Winter Gray”. The tweed fabric I sourced at Mood Fabrics in the Garment District on Manhattan.

Sunshine + Lemon Petite Styled Shoot in Andover, New Jersey

Before the upcoming cooler weather and the end of the season, V and I collaborated to produce a styled shoot inspired by the citrusy lemon. We wanted to capture the essence and spirit of an outdoor soirée for my littles and their besties on a perfect summer afternoon.

V visited the Hunts Point Flower Market to purchase the flowers to achieve these centerpiece looks. I added my two-sense with a halved fig ;-)

We wanted to use lemons as the focus point of our shoot, but not in an over done way. White with shades of yellow and pink were used to show the vibrancy of the season and to add more dimension.

V styled each place setting with a yellow gingham cloth napkin as a place mat, as is her signature design element for kid's’ tablescapes only one piece of cutlery was used.

Now let’s get into the awe-inspiring desserts, especially the cake. Kedby outdid herself with these treats. Our cake was made with a lemon infused buttercream with vanilla bean filling. The cake was decorated with lemon macarons, gold leaf, a sprinkling of pistachios and dehydrated lemon slices. The dehydrated lemons were also used in the caksicles and the lemon curd tarts. All were beautiful and tasted even better.

Summer BBQ feature in Whisk by Ami

I made the journey to Monsey, New York to deliver our newly designed low table for Rachel (@Rachel.Ostroy). D and I are constantly looking for inspiration for kid sized tables. This design was a 15” high Japanese inspired kotatsu. The table is 40” wide and 7’ long, perfect for kids and adults to share a meal or just relax around. For Rachel’s shoot she used two table (long side together) to create a massive setting for a BBQ celebration.

Rachel and her team took bar-b-quing to a whole new level. Everything from the boxwood centerpieces to the galvanized steel serving platters was thoughtful executed. Rachel partnered with the Ami Food Magazine for execute this shoot.
